Prior to the Bluestone seminar a Special General Meeting was held to vote on 3 resolutions relating to changes in the ASAA constitution. Based on the unanimous votes received from members in attendance and proxies received the 3 motions were carried. View the revised constitution online.

Bamstone Bluestone

Over 70 persons attended Jim Mann’s ‘Know Your Stone – Bluestone’ presentation which was held at Holmesglen TAFE on 28th May. Architects, designers, building consultants and members of the tile and stone industries heard Jim explain the differences which exist between local and imported bluestone. Jim will prepare a comprehensive version of his presentation for inclusion in the September edition of Discovering Stone magazine. Attendees enjoyed post show refreshments. ASAA CEO Anthony Stock expressed his thanks to all those present.

At the Australian Stone Advisory Association AGM held at Rydges Hotel, Camperdown, NSW on 14 December 2011 the new board decided to hold three ‘free’ seminars during 2012, including one which will also showcase Australian stone to architects and designers at Surry Hills Library Sydney, in the heart of the suburb which more architects call home than any other in Australia. ASAA will hold several seminars during 2012. The next board meeting will take place in February in Sydney. Members will be alerted in regard to the location at the earliest opportunity in January.
