We just had Serizzo granite installed for our floors (white ground with black) and its almost a dark charcoal grey now-after reading online I see that moisture is absorbed but will it go back to its original color after drying? How long will this take? We are in a tizzy here! Anonymous

Granite tile installation
We just installed granite tile on a cement floor in a downstairs bathroom. The tiles seem to have absorbed the water from the mortar and have darkened significantly. Will they eventually dry out and return to their normal color? Anonymous
Does slate need grout?
I have recently finished an outdoor slate wall in my backyard but I did not grout over the tile – is grout necessary with slate? I did not want any grout lines for aesthetic purposes. I am planning to put slate down on my front porch this weekend and wanted to get some feedback before I get started. Thanks for any help. Anonymous
Indonesian marble with mould
I recently laid some 400x400x15mm indonesian marble, area of 90m2 approximately 1 in 5 of the tiles had mould through the tile in varying degrees right through the body of the tiles and upon unpacking the material from its boxes I could smell the mould. Can anyone enlighten me on the origins of such mould and how it can or if it needs to be dealt with. (Anonymous)
